ABOUT SOUTHERN BREAKERS & ELECTRICAL

33 years. One family. Still picking up the phone.

Pompano Beach, Florida. Pickups nationwide. The number on this site rings the owner.

Who you're dealing with

Southern Breakers & Electrical is a family business. We've been buying surplus and used electrical equipment since TBD, and the way we work hasn't changed much: you show us what you have, we tell you what it's worth, and if you like the number we come get it and pay you on the spot.

We started with circuit breakers and they're still the core of what we do. Over 33 years that grew into switchgear, transformers, wire and cable, controls, and the copper and aluminum that comes out with all of it. If it was bolted into a panel, a plant or a job site, there's a good chance we've bought one like it.

Home base is Pompano Beach. Most of our pickups are in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade, but our trucks go wherever the load is worth the drive, and that includes out of state.

When you call, you get Gus. Not a call center, not a form that goes nowhere. The person who gives you the number is the person who shows up with the truck.

How it works

Four steps. Most of them happen the same day.

  1. 01

    Text us a photo

Take a picture of the material and tell us where it is. A pallet, a panel, a pile, a whole room. You don't need to count it, weigh it or know what it's called. If there's a label, get that in the shot. Text (469) 460-0460 or use the form on the Contact page.

  2. 02

    Get a number

During business hours, Monday to Friday 7 to 5, you'll hear back within the hour. We'll give you a firm offer or, for bigger loads, a range and a time to come look. No pressure either way. If you want to shop the number around, that's fine.

  3. 03

    We pick it up

Our trucks, our labor, our cost. For a single pallet we send a pickup; for a plant or a cleanout we drop a container and leave it as long as we're buying what goes in. Still bolted to the wall? Tell us. We handle removal where we can.

  4. 04

You get paid the same day

Once we've looked the material over and agreed on the number, you're paid before the truck leaves. Cash, bank wire, cashier's check, Zelle or ACH, your choice. The offer you got is the amount you're paid; we don't re-trade at the curb.

Where we pick up

We're based in Pompano Beach and most days we're somewhere in Broward: Fort Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, Coral Springs, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Sunrise, Davie. Palm Beach County and Miami-Dade are regular runs. For the right load, we pick up anywhere in the country; a switchgear lineup or a plant decommission is worth the drive from anywhere.

  • Broward County

Home turf. Same-day or next-day pickup most of the time.

  • Palm Beach & Miami-Dade

Regular routes. Usually within a couple of days.

  • Nationwide

Larger loads, data centers, plant decommissions. Send the photo and we'll tell you.

THE FINE PRINT, SHORT VERSION

We won't quote a number without seeing a photo, and we won't change it once we've agreed.

We won't charge you for pickup, containers or hauling. Ever.

We won't buy anything we have reason to think isn't yours to sell.

Questions sellers ask

Don't see yours? Text it to (469) 460-0460.

Circuit breakers first, every type and brand. Also switchgear, panelboards, MCC buckets and bus plugs, transformers, wire and cable on full or partial reels, PLCs and drives, and the copper and aluminum that comes out with it. New, used, obsolete or damaged. If it came out of a panel, a plant or a job site, send a photo.

All of it. New in the box, pulled from service, discontinued models nobody makes anymore, and damaged units. Obsolete breakers are often the ones people need most, because the replacement doesn't exist. Condition changes the number, not whether we're interested. Send a photo of the label and we'll tell you.

Text a photo to (469) 460-0460. Include the label if there is one and a wide shot of the pile. During business hours, Monday to Friday 7 to 5, you'll have a number within the hour. Calling works too; the form on the Contact page is the slowest of the three.

No minimum. One breaker in a drawer, one transformer in a garage, or a building full of switchgear. If it's a single piece, text a photo and we'll give you a number. If it's a warehouse, we'll bring the truck and the container. Nobody gets turned away for having too little.

Yes, and nothing. We send our own trucks and our own crew, and we cover the labor and the haul. There's no pickup fee, no fuel charge and nothing taken out of your payment. The number we quote is the number you're paid.

We drop a container at your site at no charge TBD and leave it as long as we're buying what goes in. Fill it with the electrical, call us when it's full, and we haul it and pay you the same day. No rental agreement, no haul fee, no deadline.

Same day. Once we've looked the material over and agreed on the number, you're paid before the truck leaves. Cash, bank wire, cashier's check, Zelle or ACH, whichever you prefer. For large loads that need a second look, we'll tell you the timing up front before anything moves.

Yes, and it's a lot of what we do. Tear-outs, remodels, panel swaps and full building decommissions. We drop a container, your crew puts the electrical in it, and we haul it when it's full. It saves you a dumpster and turns the scrap into a check instead of a bill.

We're in Pompano Beach and most of our pickups are in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties. For larger loads, switchgear lineups, data centers and plant decommissions, we pick up anywhere in the United States. Send the photo and the location and we'll tell you how fast we can be there.

33 years, family owned the whole time, based in Pompano Beach since TBD. We started with circuit breakers and still buy more of those than anything else. The owner answers the phone, gives the number and is usually on the truck. That hasn't changed and isn't going to.
